BILTHOVEN, Netherlands & BOSTON, September 4, 2024 (BUSINESS WATCH GLOBAL) – Avania, a global contract research organization (CRO) specializing in MedTech, has named Jason Monteleone as its new president and CEO. Monteleone’s appointment, effective September 2, 2024, follows the leadership of Sapna Hornyak, who had held the role since 2019.

Monteleone brings over 25 years of experience in the clinical research and medical device sectors, having held senior positions in various organizations. Notably, Monteleone was CEO of Clinipace, where he oversaw a 65% increase in revenue before the company’s acquisition by dMed in 2021. He also served as CFO at Theorem Clinical Research and most recently as president of Ancillare, a global provider of clinical trial supplies.

“I am honored to join Avania and lead this exceptional team at such an exciting time in our industry,” Monteleone stated. “Avania partners with some of the world’s most innovative companies in therapeutic areas such as cardiovascular, neurology, orthopedics, and aesthetics. The privilege to assist our customers in developing life-changing products for patients is the reason we are passionate about what we do.”

Monteleone's appointment comes as Avania continues to expand its presence in the MedTech clinical research space. The company's services span clinical studies for medical devices, biologics, and combination products from early human trials to post-market phases.

Todd Pope, chairman of Avania’s board, remarked on Monteleone’s leadership: “I look forward to working closely with Jason as he leads Avania to continue making a positive impact for our customers, employees, and the MedTech community.”
