KANSAS CITY, Mo., December 11, 2024 (Business Watch Global) — Pediatric healthcare provider Children’s Mercy Kansas City has announced the appointment of Dr. Alejandro Quiroga as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2, 2025. Dr. Quiroga, a Colombian physician and graduate of Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, was selected after a nationwide search.

Dr. Quiroga most recently held the position of President at Corewell Health West, overseeing a $4.2 billion integrated healthcare system in Michigan that includes 10 hospitals, over 120 ambulatory sites, and a teaching hospital affiliated with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

Dr. Quiroga specializes in pediatric nephrology and has held several medical positions at institutions across the United States. He completed clerkships in neurology, pediatric neurology, and pediatric oncology research at Johns Hopkins Hospital, a residency at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, and a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Montefiore Children’s Hospital in New York City.
